Dear Ben:
Thank you for the check that you forwarded to me out of the Haynes Settlement. I appreciate that very much. We will certainly continue to refer cases to you that we think are appropriate. The most important thing to me in this whole process is that our clients were very pleased with your services. If we may ever be of any help to you, please feel free to call upon us.
Subject: Trial observations
Looked over to me... defense attorney dismayed over how he lost again, but realizing big money had to be paid. Complaining about having to explain to the board why his client has to pay another big settlement... and complaining, complaining, but realizing he was flat beat. Never seen a defense collapse like that in about 3 hours. Ben's cross, was the end of the case (same thing he did to the defendant doctor last time-don't remember the case). Overwhelming, smothering. Case over.
Good luck the rest of the way, but I think I have seen the end.
Dear Ben:
I am writing at this time to say "thank you" for being a mentor, big brother, and friend since the beginning of my legal career. You gave me an opportunity to work when no other jobs were available. In addition, over the years you have allowed me to work on cases together with you and your wisdom and guidance have been priceless.
Finally, I want to thank you for allowing me to participate in our most recent endeavor, the Kennedy matter. If there is anything else I can do in that case or any other matter now or in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me.
